Security and Privacy Overviews In Mobile Payments
University of Surrey
Abstract
A research paper that reviews the main technologies used in mobile payments and evaluates how secure and private they are. It compares SMS-based payments with NFC and wallet-based systems, showing that newer systems are more secure but often collect more user data. The paper also explores privacy-focused alternatives such as blockchain and passkey-based models, and suggests that future mobile payment systems should aim for a better balance between strong security and user anonymity.
